Ghost stroy

There are people who believe in ghosts and there are people who don’t. I myself  was a skeptic a few years ago. All that changed when I had a paranormal experience one fateful Sunday just a year ago.
I had gone to Pahang with my best friend. Raihan, during the school holidays. We went to a quiet village and a relative of my friend’s had made us welcome and offered us the use of one his rooms. The village was a far cry from the city where we lived. There was no hustle and tussle of the rat-race found in the city. The days moved at a leisurely pace and we had lots of fun fishing in the river and climbing trees to pluck rambutans and mangoes. It seemed that life in the village was absolutely carefree.
One day, Raihan claimed thats he had heard that there was a haunted house at the outskirts of the village. He said that the house was very old and was in a badly ruined condition but none of the villagers would go near it. That night, Raihan suggested that we go to the haunted house and prove to the superstitious villagers once and for all that there was no such thing as ghosts.
When we reached the haunted house, we felt an eerie chill, yet on even a gentle breeze was blowing . We flashed our torchlights and made our way to the house. The house had no door and we boldly walked in. There were still bits and pieces of old furniture stewn all over the floor and there were cobwebs hanging on the walls and ceilings.
Just then, we heard a terrifying scream. We had goosebumps and  we looked at one another. Then, a light formed in the middle of the room and a ghostly apparition appeared right before our eyes. The face was that like ugliest woman we had ever seen. Her face had long line of open scars.
For a few seconds, we were dumbstruck and then in unison we fled from the house as fast as our legs could carry. We ran all the way to one of villager’s home. His name is Roslan. We stopped to catch our breath only we have locked ourselves in our room.
The next day, all of us were down with a high fever. Roslan called the doctor and we were each given an injection and prescribed a course of medicine. We were bedridden for three days. When we had recovered, we told Roslan what had happened.

Ghost Story

My name is Aida Fatini. This true story i never told in print for fear that i would sound mad. It is the version of events as i remember them, so that the tale told by another member of my family might differ slightly in order or timing.

When i was 16 years old, my family moved to Ampang, hidden behind trees, high-ceiling and replete with corridors. This sudden gift of space was not before time. When people asked how many siblings that i had , i tended to chirp "we are too many" or " we are legion" . Ours, in fact, was the perfect situation for a horror story. Three girls of 16, 15 and nine, a boy of 11 and one of barely four years old.

To be sure, our new house had a degree of notoriety. local gossip held that it boasted three "presences" a woman who stalked the ground floor , an elderly doctor forever racing up its stairs searching for a dying grandson and, in its upper reaches, the victim of an argument that had spilled over into murder. There was even what appeared to be the requisite bloodstain that could not be removed, since covered with carpet.

The more credulous would not step upside it. We were not so naive. And yet, there was something unsettling about our new home, a personality a sense that we were installing ourselves in a place already occupied it never felt quite empty. Doors would shut of their own volition, footstep would sound, it felt as if we were being watched, assessed.

Very soon, this phone-war period became the subject of nostalgia. For, when the house kicked off, it kicked off in epic style. Every night 4am, someone - something would tear up its stairs, ratting , then forcing open, the doors in its wake, like all of which required proper turning and thrusting , until it reached my mother's room, entering in a furious door slamming blast. Once comically , but in ghastly , it even seemed to relieve its excess energy with a few stroke on her rowing machine.

Ramadan

Islam is quite a simple religion to follow. There is one prominent time of the year when Muslims from all over unite and put aside their worldly issues to become one with God. This time is during the holy month of Ramadan. Muslims around the globe fast, pray, give charity, and engage in spiritual connection with God. At the end of this auspicious month, a celebration is held called Eid-Ul Fitr. This “Holiday” consists of a few main aspects that Muslims concentrate on sighting of the moon, indulging in worship, and last but not least, fasting.

The Islamic calendar is based on the lunar cycle, this is why the commencement of Ramadan is with the sighting of the moon and it also ends with the sighting of the moon. This is why there is no specific date set for Ramadan to start. Muslims start Ramadan by sighting the new moon which is an event on its own. The night the moon is to be seen there are literally large groups of people that go out to elevations or where there are clear skies, to sight the moon. The groups need to be very attentive and focused because the moon is there for only a little bit before it disappears in a matter of minutes. The person or people who sight the moon are obligated by Islamic law to take an oath of allegiance to an Islamic scholar of that town. There has to be two or more people who go for the sighting of the moon. There are certain characteristics that the person who is in charge of sighting the moon, must possess. He or she must be trustworthy, not a known liar, and they have to be religiously inclined. This tradition of starting this Muslim holiday has been practiced for over 1400 years. If no one sights the moon or is unable to by the end of the month, Ramadan automatically ends on the thirtieth day. The sighting of the moon at the beginning and end of Ramadan is of high importance in Islamic law. This is why there are so many restrictions involved.

A big part of this month is fasting, which starts before sunrise and ends at sunset. During this period a person is not allowed to eat or drink at all. It is considered a sin if one breaks his or her fast intentionally without a valid excuse such as illness. Having a cold glass of water without realizing he or she broke their fast is not considered as a sin, forgetfulness is not something that can be controlled. A Muslim believer is to not only fast from food and beverages but accordingly abstain from forbidden actions such as lying, cheating, backbiting, shouting, swearing, or fighting of any type. All these actions if done intentionally will void one’s fast. He or she may as well start eating because the person has stopped attaining reward from God. On the other hand, if one asks forgiveness after committing these actions, he or she may be forgiven, depending on the person’s sincerity. The bottom line is to work even harder to abstain from all the vices that the religion requires its followers to abstain from.

Another thing that makes the month of Ramadan is that the holy book the Qur’an, was revealed to the prophet Mohammed in this month. As Muslims, we are required to read or hear the Qur’an in its entirety during this month. Every night of this month, an Imam (preacher) recites the Qur’an by heart (memorization) in prayer. The Qur’an has 30 chapters with 25 pages in each chapter all written in the Arabic language. Listening to the recitation of the Qur’an and standing in prayer is considered worship. As a Muslim we believe in life after death and all rewards that we accumulate with good deeds will be given to us in the hereafter. During the month of Ramadan all rewards are multiplied by thousands compared to rewards given for good deeds during other months. So a people try to worship as much as they can to get the utmost benefit of this month.

On the morning of Eid there is a flurry of activity in each household. all Muslims get dolled up in the best clothes that they own, favorably traditional clothes. On that morning we eat something sweet then head off to the prayer hall with family and friends. At the hall a speech is given then everyone prays together. Afterwards everyone greets and meets each other. After that family and friends go out together to have brunch. The whole day is spent meeting people, going to their homes, exchanging gifts, having picnics, and presents are given to children. It is a joyful day for people of all ages. This day is not restricted to Muslims only, people of all faiths are welcome to join in. It is just a wonderful celebration to get together in peace and harmony.

Ramdhan

Ramadhan or fasting means withhold food and drink from down until sunset. Ramadhan occurs once a year. In of the Ramadhan, all the Muslims will fasting. Before  we fasting, we are required to 'sahur'.

Sahur means refer to the meal consumed early in the morning by Muslims before fasting. We should eat even less. We are encouraged to eat protein foods like bread, fish and more. On the first day of fasting was rather tiring seen we have to hold ourself from food and drink all day long until sunset or adzan reveberate. At that time we call Iftar.

Iftar means the evening meal when Muslims end their daily Ramadhan fast at sunset. Iftar is one of the religious obervances of Ramadhan and often done as a community, roith people gathering to break their fast together. Iftar is taken right after Maghrib time, which is around suset. After Iftar and Maghrib prayer, there will be Isya prayer followed by Tarawih prayer. And after that, most Malaysian Muslims usually will have a special supper called moreh with local traditional snacks and hot tea.

Hence, Ramadhan is also the time of the year when you can find the best Malay food at the Bazaar Ramadhan. The Ramadhan food markets, that pop up everywhere in the country. These markets can be visited by anyone, not only Muslims. So all Non-Muslims travelles should experience a Bazaar Ramadhan if they happen to be in Malaysia during the fasting month.

Ramadhan is similiar to other holiday in that family and friends get together and break fast together. It increases the bond between family and overall is a fun.

Ramadan

Ramadan means fasting in the a months of the  five pillar islam. Fard upon every muslim, male and female who is sane and mature. Fasting has also many physical, moral and social benefits. However, Allah has made fasting compulsory so that we become pious person, god fearing and learn to be patient in every one months of the year to welcome a ramadhan. Almighty Allah has promised great reward for those who fast. Then, there are many title about ramadhan can we know.

Firstly , the interesting about ramadhan , it is a common for a muslims to go to the mosque and spend a several hour praying and having the tadarus together to strengthen  ties between fellow pilgrims. In addition to the five daily prayers , during ramadhan muslim recite a special that we called the 'Terawih' prayer. This length of this prayer is usually 2-3 times as long at the daily prayers . It also make the muslims are also spend the entire night in prayer to get reward.

Fasting is more than remaining hungry and thirsty for the sake of Allah . During the fasting we try and implement every principle of islam within our lives. For example, we no longer fight, argue , lie or cheat. Other qualities such as miserly , greed , selfishness and apathy for the suffering are also purged from our lives. We do as many as good deeds as possible and are concerned for the well being of all our muslim communities throughout the world in Ramadan people are more generous and give from their pockets and hearts to those less fortunate . There is an aura of love and compassion surrounding every individual  as the self-centredness is refocused to most around them. Ramadan is about getting things that we can't but can't but can perceive with our hearts and minds. Fasting us a spiritual exercise that has disappeared from many religious practices the world over.

Sahur is an islamic term referring to the meal consumed early in the morning by muslims before fasting. The meal eaten before fajr prayer, sahur as the morning meal is matched by iftar as meals a day, although in some places dinner is also consumed after iftar later during the night. Being the last meal eaten by muslims before fasting from dawn to sunset durinh the month of Ramadan.

Rather than people finding themselves , I think they get a taste of Islam and they re-discover their spiritual nature that is often neglected  within their worldly lives. They are attracted to the love and peace of Islam and are invigorated to follow the will and plan of their Creator. It is indeed a great favour bestowed  upon those that Allah has given guidance.
